Compound Active Clamping Boost Converter-Three Phase Four Switch Inverter Fed Induction Motor

The objective of this work is to develop an AC to AC Converter for three phase induction motor with minimum hardware and improved power factor. This paper presents the simulation of Compound Active Clamping Boost Converter Four Switch Three Phase Inverter fed Induction Motor Drive. Compound active clamping boost converter has advantages like improved power factor, reduced switching losses and elimination of resonance. The poor quality of current and voltage of a conventional inverter fed induction machine is due to the presence of harmonics. The Harmonic content can be reduced by using four switch three phase inverter. The simulation work was carried out using Matlab Simulink and the simulation results are presented.
