This project presents the design and implementation of a serial-USB converter, useful for transferring data from devices that do not have RS-232 serial ports. The converter was built using the MAX232 chip and the PIC18F4550 microcontroller and MPLAB was used for the logic programming of the converter. In the final part of the project we present the implementation of the prototype already tested on the printed circuit board (PCB), thereby obtaining the serial-USB converter.
