Abstract
|
The technology of Delay and Disruption Tolerant Networking deals with networks in challenged environment. DTN is part of the Inter Planetary Internet with primary application being deep space networks. The terrestrial DTN has interesting research applications which also act as test beds for addressing its open issues such as routing, naming, security etc. Alagappa University Delay Tolerant Water Monitoring Network is one such environmental application that is used for research on DTN. The AUDTWMN is simulated on Alunivdtnsim, a desktop simulator in C language. The paper first introduces the basic design of AUDTWMN as a proposed application for monitoring select water bodies in the district of Sivaganga in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. With AUDTWMN as test bed for DTN, we analyze the proposed design by observing its throughput performance for select routing algorithms during simulation. Based on a best case routing scenario, the simulation findings are graphically presented in detail.
